As you know it, Terry Sanderson sued the 50-year-old actress in 2019, accusing him of hitting him while he was on the slopes of Deer Valley Resort in Utah in 2016. He claimed to have suffered a concussion and broken ribs following the collision. And on Thursday, the 76-year-old ended up losing the civil lawsuit and awarded Gwyneth $1 in damages – the amount she sought in her countersuit. When asked if the trial was worth it after the trial, Terry said:
“Knowing that [verdict] Not now. I joked about dating sites, didn’t I? It’s like I’ll be on the internet forever.
On whether he felt Gwyneth’s celebrity status influenced the case, he said:
“You get some supposed credibility by being a famous person. Who wants to face a celebrity? No wonder I hesitated. It is difficult. Who wants to make someone who learns lines, learns to play the role of someone else and is believable, believable, win awards? Who wants to follow this path. I believe she thinks she has the truth…but I absolutely know I said I wouldn’t bring any lies.

But not so fast! While Sanderson may regret suing Gwyneth after the loss, that doesn’t mean he or his legal deal is backing down now! His lawyer, Robert Sykessaid TMZ Saturday that they plan to file a motion for a new trial or even a possible appeal! He said:
“We sincerely disagree with the outcome and will consider all options moving forward…. including a petition to the court for a new trial or possible appeal. All of these things are on the table.
Sykes told the outlet that he believes there were several mistakes made in the case that could potentially help with an appeal. One moment the lawyer took issue with was that the judge allowed Gwyneth’s legal team to look into Terry’s past – which he said was “completely unrelated” to the collision. However, Sykes noted that the problem is that the doctor’s lawyers were not allowed to also dig into the Joy past alum. Hmm…
At this time, Terry’s lawyers have taken no steps to seek a new trial or appeal as they are taking their time to weigh the options before making a final decision. But it’s possible we’ll see Gwyneth and Terry face off again.
