Hayden Panettiere long-awaited return as Kirby Reed paved the way for more beloved characters in the future. She was again stabbed by Ghostface, but she survived. She told Tara and Sam to call her if they “ever” needed anything.

Kirby was the perfect bridge between the original legacy characters and the newbies. She also formed a sweet bond with Tara. Bring Kirby back, Cry 7!

At Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers also survived another brutal attack from Ghostface. Courteney is the only original Shout character to have appeared in all 6 films so far. She would probably make an appearance in a seventh installment.

Josh Segarra was introduced in Scream 6 as Danny Brackett, Sam’s new love interest. If Sam and Danny stay together, Josh would probably be back Cry 7.

Like all previous Shout films, a new batch of secondary characters would be introduced in Cry 7. One or more of them could be the new Ghostface!

Will Neve Campbell be back for Cry 7?

THE Shout the world was shocked in June 2022 when neve campbell revealed that she will not return as Sidney Prescott in Cry 6.

“Unfortunately, I will not be doing the next Shout movie,” Neve said in a statement. “As a woman, I’ve had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my worth, especially when it comes to Shout. I felt that the offer presented to me did not match the value I brought to the franchise.

Neve’s absence was felt in Cry 6. She was mentioned briefly after Ghostface’s last round of attacks. Gale revealed that Sidney will not be coming to New York. Sidney and Mark took their children to a safe place to hide from Ghostface.

Sidney Prescott will always remain a central part of the Shout world, but Neve’s decision not to return didn’t completely change the story of Cry 6. “That was always the story we wanted to tell, which is really exciting, we were able to do that,” screenwriter James Vanderbilt said Variety. “Sisters Sam and Tara’s story has always been what we wanted to be at the center of it all. We love Neve and think she’s amazing and had a great experience with her on [Scream] 5. She has to do what she has to do as a businesswoman and we totally support that.

Director Tyler Gillette added, “I think what ultimately happened was that we knew that if anything, in the absence of this character, we had to really dig into the main four and make those relationships matter in a really emotional way. The goal was to try to connect these characters with the audience the same way we connected with Gale, Dewey and Sid. In the end, it’s just about having the time and the real estate in your story to really dig deep. But no, it wasn’t an extremely dramatic pivot.

Neve hasn’t ruled out bringing Sidney back into the fold. “I don’t know if I’m done for good,” says the actress PEOPLE in August 2022. “It would really depend on what they offer me next. It would have to be different. It would have to be a different attitude, and I’m not sure that will happen.

The actress continued, “If they came to me with a number that felt fair, respectful, consistent with my value that I brought to the franchise, I would be willing to consider [returning in the future]“I don’t think he died in the water, but we’ll see. But honestly, I’m doing really well. I was able to let go. I wish them good luck. I’m doing three different shows right now. I am very, very grateful to work. I am happy. So everything is fine. »

Is Stu Macher alive?

That’s the million dollar question. OG Stu’s killer was apparently killed in the first Shout film after being stabbed and electrocuted when a television fell on his head. However, a legion of Shout fans hope that Stu somehow survived and lived in hiding all this time.

Cry 5 briefly introduced Stu’s nephew, but he was quickly killed by Ghostface. The big showdown took place at Stu Macher’s former home, just like in the original.

Cry 6 refers directly to Stu Macher. At the Ghostface Sanctuary warehouse, the Core Four and others came face-to-face with key pieces of past murders, including the television that allegedly killed Stu. When Kirby brings up the television that killed Stu, Mindy joked, “If you believe he’s dead.”

screams original screenwriter, Kevin Williamsonsaid Stu is dead dead. “No, he’s dead. I think it started because of the college scene, the frat party scene because it’s held in the background. He just came to visit the set that night,” he said. Collider.

The last Shout The team isn’t so concrete about Stu’s whereabouts. “There is no right answer, so I will never confirm or deny this stuff,” James Vanderbilt said Variety. Producer Guillaume Sherak added, “Anything is possible.” Producer Paul Neinstein also said, “Characters can walk in and out! There are different ways to do this. It’s such a part of their whole life; they have an affinity for Shout.

Even if Stu is dead, he could come back like At Skeet Ulrich Billy Loomis, who appeared in the last two films in Sam’s Head. If Stu is still alive, this would be the ultimate twist. Scream 7 could follow the theme of Scream 3: the past can always come back to bite you.
