Industrialize with “Nero” from Godflesh!

Industrial metal pioneers Godflesh have unveiled their first new single, “Nero,” from their highly anticipated upcoming album, “Purge.” The track is a searing mix of heavy metal riffs and industrial beats that are sure to please fans of the iconic band. Along with the single, Godflesh has also announced a North American tour in support of their upcoming album.

Formed in 1988 by Justin K. Broadrick and Ben Green, Godflesh have long been one of the most influential bands in the industrial music genre. Their unique blend of metallic and electronic elements has provided a model for countless bands over the years. Now, with their highly anticipated comeback album, Purge, it looks like they’re ready to reclaim their throne at the top of the genre once again.

According to Godflesh, their new track “Nero” is explained as follows: “Nero, as a symbol and reminder of the irresponsible self-destruction practiced always, now and forever,” Broadrick exclaimed in a statement. “In classic Godflesh tradition, three self-reinterpretations are presented, to show the many sides of the same coin.”

Godflesh also recently announced the release of their new album ‘Purge’, their first since 2017’s ‘Post Self’, which is set to be released worldwide on Friday, June 9 via Avalanche. The album sees the band return to their signature sound of heavy distortion and electronic beats, mixed into a potent mix of industrial metal.

Godflesh is widely regarded as one of the originators of industrial metal, having released his debut album ‘Streetcleaner’ in 1989′ and quickly gaining acclaim for his unique blend of punk, metal and electronica. Frontman Justin Broadrick continued to develop the genre throughout his career, with Godflesh having collaborated with several other artists over the years. With Purge, he’s returned to his roots and crafted an album that’s sure to please long-time fans while appealing to new listeners interested in discovering an original industrial metal act.
