The nation – devil, the planet, the galaxy– could use a bit of good news right now. Fortunately, Kenan Thompson And Kel Mitchell are ready to bring us the brightness and the joy that we all need.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonthe comedy duo cleared their throats and, on a drum roll, announced that the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 cinematic triumph Good burger is indeed under construction!
“Welcome to Good Burger, home of the good burger – PART TWO!!!” Mitchell squealed, as he and his condiment comrade jumped off the late-night couch to screams and huzzahs. Eager to bask in the party, jimmy fallon came out from behind his desk to join the victory lap.
“It’s a blessing, it’s amazing,” said Thompson, now the longest-serving actor in Saturday Night Live the story says. “We’re going to shoot it this summer.”
“We won. People talked,” Fallon added.
Kenan and Kel then recalled meeting when they were 14 to work on the Nickelodeon sketch comedy series All thatparticularly amused that they clicked with the characters “Mavis and Clavis”, in which the two children pretended to be geriatrics.
Mitchell added that he was reminded Good burger in any restaurant he frequents. “It could be 5 star, it could be drive-thru.” No complaints, though, as it leads to free burgers.
Thompson teased the film a bit. He said there would be “hijinks” and called “any famous person” if they wanted to make an appearance. Fallon was quick to sign up.
The appearance ended with a musical number rich in nostalgia.
As Fallon pointed out, Kenan and Kel appeared in a Good burger reunion a few years ago The show tonight, much to the delight of fans. “Spicy Chicken Wrap” or “Spicy Chicken RAP”? Har har har.
