Apparently, according to charts, streaming numbers, and Lizzo, 2023 is the year for alternative R&B musicians. Musician 6lack has heard the news and is answering the call with his own project, Since I have a lover.
After receiving outreach assistance from the Water Boyz of Atlanta, Mr. Vaentine showered downtown residents of his hometown with flowers and a note confirming that a new album was in the works. Now, with two singles, “Since I Have A Lover” (the title track) and “Talkback”, now available on streaming platforms, the songwriter has revealed a bit more about his body of work. .
With nearly twenty songs on the album, Since I have a lover will only feature two billed guest voice appearances. The first is singer Quin, her romantic partner and former collaborator (“Mushroom Chocolate”). The second is melodic rapper Don Toliver. Quin is set to appear on a song called “Wunna Dem,” while Don Toliver will appear on a song called “Temporary.”
