Do you remember Robert Schwartzman in The Princess Diaries? He’s coming to SXSW!

Remember the guy who busted Mia’s foot at the end of The Diary of a Princess? Well, the actor’s name is Robert Schwartzman and he’s coming to SXSW!

Schwartzman is no stranger to the entertainment scene as he comes from one of Hollywood’s most famous families. Her uncle is Francis Ford Coppola and that makes Sophia Coppola her cousin. Nic Cage is also a cousin. And you probably know his brother too. Big brother Jason Schwartzman starred in UT grad Wes Anderson’s movieRushmore among many other well-known projects.

But we are not here to talk about it!

Here’s why Robert Schwartzman is coming to SXSW 2023

In their first feature-length documentary almost 60 years after they met as teenagers, the zombies share their story in a film titled Hanging on to a dream. It is directed by, you guessed it, Robert Schwartzman! Throughout the film, the band reflects on their journey, where a true friendship led them to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Schwartzman is no stranger to SXSW and Austin, where he made numerous stops while touring with his own band Rooney. So we asked him to answer our tough Texas This or That questions.

Tacos or BBQ?

Very harsh, but I was born and raised in LA, so tacos.

Queso or Guac?

Guac.

Texas beer (like minnow or Lonestar) or Texas liquor (Tito’s)?

Lone Star.

Beyonce or Lizzo?

Both great. Beyonce.

Both great. Willy.

Both great. I choose both.

• World premiere: Sunday March 12 at 5:30 p.m. (ZACH Theater)
• Second session: Friday March 17 at 2:15 p.m. (ZACH Theater)
