Omar Rudberg to release ‘I’m So Excited’ cover ‘by popular demand’

Omar Rudberg has confirmed that his version of the Pointer Sisters hit “I’m So Excited” will hit streaming platforms on Friday.

The Young Royals star graced the cover of the QX Gay Gala earlier this year and video of Rudberg’s performance had fans on social media swooning.

The singer turned the track into a smooth, jazzy number before breaking into the feel-good chorus as industry figures including Netflix actor Edvin Ryding looked on.

Rudberg shared news of the release on his Instagram Stories on Monday with label Ten Music Grop adding that the decision to release the version came “by popular demand.”

The 24-year-old also performed a version of “Simon’s Song” at the Swedish event, the track of course famous for the Young Royals Season 2 soundtrack.

In this performance, Ryding also made an appearance in the Hillerska school uniform.

Omar Rudberg was named one of CelebMix’s Ones to Watch for 2023 after a breakthrough in 2022 which saw the release of his debut album OMR.

This year promises to be full of new music with the star currently recording in Los Angeles as well as a third and final season of Young Royals.
