Netflix’s Wednesday shocks fans after revealing how Thing came to life

Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes look at how Thing came to life in Tim Burton’s Addams Family spin-off on Wednesday.

The coming-of-age comedy follows the morbid and slightly unpredictable teenager (Jenna Ortega) as she is sent to Nevermore Academy due to misdeeds during her previous enrollments, including the murder of one of her classmates.

While reactions to the series – which also stars Catherine-Zeta Jones and Gwendoline Christie – have so far been mixed to positive, critics have lived for Ortega’s portrayal of the lead role.

To celebrate the success of all eight parts, the streaming service has shared a series of snaps showing actor Victor Dorobantu wearing a bluescreen suit with only his bare hand exposed – which ultimately explains the moves.

In one shot, Dorobantu is depicted on a moving piece as his hand runs across the ground.

The exclusive snaps sent fans into a social media frenzy, with one writing, “All this time I thought this was cgi this is so cool.”

“Someone to give flowers to Victor Dorobantu for his role as Thing. I mean,” added another.

“You have to give it to her,” a third person joked.

Although reviews were mixed, Netflix viewers followed the series from start to finish.

With a fan score of 88%, it is the highest-rated Addams Family property on the aggregator’s website since the original 1964 television series.

There have been three more attempts to reboot The Addams Family on television, but the 1973, 1992, and 1998 series have no reviews on the website.

The five Addams Family films — three live-action, two animated — have all received mixed reviews from critics and fans.

Fans were also thrilled as OG Wednesday actress Christina Ricci also appears on the show as Marylin Thornhill. Reflecting on their meeting, Jenna said: “I think when [Christina] was on set, neither of us said Wednesday to each other once.

“I don’t think she wanted to get in the way of my performance and feel like I was bossy. I felt like I didn’t want to take back something she did 30 years ago.” own benefit, but two, yeah, I didn’t want to rip him off and I didn’t want to look too much like him.”

“Wednesday” on Netflix: Fred Armisen shaved his head to play Uncle Fester

With the monsters, murders, and mayhem plaguing Nevermore Academy, it was only fitting that WednesdayThe main character of would be visited by his crazy uncle Fester (played by Fred Armisen).

The electric eldest dropped by in Episode 7 to watch over his niece and keep a low profile for a few days before her next “work” in Boston. According to Miles Millar, who serves as showrunner alongside Al Gough, there was only one actor in mind for the bizarre role.

“The great thing about working with someone like Tim Burton is that you get your first pick,” Millar told TVLine. “We’ve always wanted Fred because he’s got the perfect look, but also, he brings such a fun energy to the role. For us, he’s always been that first choice.

Millar says he and Gough “couldn’t believe it” when Armisen agreed to play the role, appearing in just one episode this season. But that came with its own set of challenges as filming took place in Romania.

“It’s normal for the cast to be there for eight months, but [booking] guest stars were more difficult,” says Millar. THE Wednesday The boss shares that Armisen was “absolutely” for the role and “so excited to do it,” even shaving his head for the one-off appearance.

Armisen opted for the big chop instead of wearing a bald cap for a more realistic look.

“They really did such a good job with the makeup and everything. I had no eyebrows. It was prosthetics on my eyebrows to give me that look,” he said. “But I think bald caps don’t always look great, so I was just hoping to make it even more compelling.”

Armisen is in good company. Christopher Lloyd also shaved his head to play Uncle Fester in the 1991s The Addams Family and its sequel Value of the Addams Family

Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
