Other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family have also attended in the past, including her mother Kris Jenneryounger sisters kendall And Kylie Jenner. Kourtney And Khloe also first attended in 2022.
Kim made her debut at the event – often dubbed the fashion Super Bowl – with her ex-husband Kanye West in 2013. At the time, the KKW Beauty CEO was visibly pregnant with her daughter North, now 9, who is the eldest of the former couple’s four children. Her first look was a Givenchy-designed dress with a floral print and built-in gloves that raised eyebrows at the time to look sofa-like.
Kim has continued to improve her looks over the years, including her ‘wet’ dress from 2019 by Thierry Mugler which easily became one of her most memorable outfits of all time. However, none caused a stir, much like 2022 when it came to Marilyn Monroethe one and only “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” dress from Bob Macky. The historic 1962 object was loaned to the Hulu star by Ripley’s Museum in Orlando for one night only – and the process to borrow it wasn’t easy as no alterations were allowed. As a result, Kim had to adhere to a strict diet and exercise program to lose weight ahead of the big day.
“I’m extremely respectful of the dress and what it means to American history. I would never sit in it or eat in it or risk damaging it and I won’t wear the kind of body makeup that I usually do,” she told vogue Last year. She also revealed that she thought the dress would most likely fit before realizing that Marilyn wasn’t as curvy as she was.
“I always thought she was extremely curvy. I imagined I could be shorter in places where she was taller and taller in places where she was shorter. So when that wasn’t right for me, I felt like crying because it couldn’t be changed at all,” she said before discussing her diet. “I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, I would completely cut out all sugar and carbs, and only eat the cleanest vegetables and proteins,” she explained. “I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict.”
