According to the latest reports, filmmaker Karan Johar is disappointed with Ayan Mukerji and the reason is that he takes War 2 while leaving Brahmastra 2 in the lurch. For the uninitiated, Ayan will be directing Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR War 2 star. Apparently Karan wants Ayan to finish Brahmastra sequels before shooting for War 2 and hence a rift has been caused between the two.
Is the Karan and Ayan Mukerji spinoff rumor real?
Now, the latest report suggests that the rift between Karan and Ayan is fake. According to an article in the Hindustan Times, a source said: “It’s not true. It’s a backbiting piece that tries to drive a wedge between the two. The two have pretty much the same bond they’ve had so far. Ayan gave a big boost to Karan, and the latter was a great support to him, as soon as he launched him as a director with Wake Up! sid. Brahmastra was a great movie, made possible only by the complete trust the two showed each other.”
Amid spinoff rumors, Karan Johar wrote a cute post about Ayan Mukerji on his birthday before Brahmastra was released. He wrote, “Love is such a strong feeling and emotion…it can be divided and yet felt in abundance…I love you Ayan and feel protective of you as much as I do my twins…. I know the decade (a whole decade) of work you devoted to your film BRAHMASTRA… I have never seen anyone dedicate most of their professional life to a project like you did… What tomorrow or rather the 9th of September we have in store for us I can’t predict at the moment! But your commitment and hard work is already a victory! You just flew! Fly away! Just keep aiming high! Dreams are a reality if you truly believe in them and I know you do! Your dream is your labor of love that the world will soon see! I love you my child! And oh yeah! Happy birthday!!!!!”
Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in key roles. The movie was one of the hit movies of 2022.
