Actor Joe Thomas unsure about Inbetweeners reunion

Joe Thomas is unsure about the idea of an “Inbetweeners” reunion.

It’s not unexpected because all the actors feel 1. They’re too old. 2. The writing won’t be as good. 3. They don’t want to ruin the legacy if it fails.

The 39-year-old actor rose to fame playing sixth alum Simon Cooper in the E4 coming-of-age sitcom alongside Simon Bird, Blake Harrison and James Buckey, but is unsure if a new series would be on the cards even if there were “obvious” storylines.

He said, “I don’t know, there are some obvious things. like a wedding or a reunion, but it has to be the right idea. Obviously, I love these guys and loved doing this show, so I would still work with them on anything, even if I was 80. It was the beginning of my career; the screenwriters, lain Morris and Damon Beesley, really framed us and I am enormously grateful for that. I miss them a little. Iain is in the States now and I haven’t seen Damon in a while, while the other three guys I see occasionally.

THE Between two star James Buckley tried to explain what was wrong with the show meeting special, calling it a “disaster”.

Meanwhile, Joe – who also appeared as Simon in both feature film adaptations of the series – is now starring in the alien comedy film ‘We Are Not Alone’ about Dave and describes the project of a ” mashup” between “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead”.

“It reminds me of Hot Fuzz or Shaun Of The Dead, that kind of mash-up. There is a level of bureaucratic incompetence in the invasion, as the aliens cannot properly hook up their weapons. It reminds me of a picture book I read as a kid called Dr. Xargle’s Book of Earthlings. It was like, ‘Why are they dragging this animal away with a rope and then cleaning up his poo for no reason? Do they work for the animal? Human behavior would seem quite irrational to an enlightened alien. ”

“We Are Not Alone” airs Monday, November 28 on Dave.
