Tamika Scott says LaTocha Scott stole her gospel contract
Xscape: Queens of R&B star Tamika Scott recently made headlines after making accusations against his sister, LaTocha Scott.
In a recent appearance on Watch what’s happening live with Andy Cohen Tamika claimed that LaTocha Scott had “stolen” his gospel contract and left him no choice but to pursue a solo career.
Tamika Scott was put on the spot and asked tough questions about the ongoing drama with her sister and their experiences on SWV & XSCAPE: the queens of R&B. Joining her on the show was Alexia Nepola Since The Real Housewives of Miami.
The host, Andy Cohen asked Tamika the following questions:
Can she defend herself from staying with Rocky, her husband, for so many years? Tamika looked straight ahead and remained silent.
Can she defend Tocha’s suspect that Kandi might have had something to do with his solo project being scrapped at the time? “No,” Tamika said succinctly.
Can you defend Tocha meeting with Motown Gospel about a solo contract behind the band’s back? “The contract that was meant for both of us, that she stole from us,” she said. “She robbed me. It was our agreement. And she took it.
Can you defend Tocha by speaking on behalf of all XSCAPE?
“Heeeeeeck no,” she said.
According Tamika Scott, she and her sister had been working on a gospel project for years and had a deal with a top record label. However, LaTocha dubbed her and convinced the label to drop Tamika of the project and sign instead LaTocha as a solo act. Tamika went on to say that she was devastated by the betrayal and felt that her sister took advantage of her trust.
This is not the first theft allegation made by Tamika about his sister. Tamika also accused his sister and LaTocha’s husband, Rocky bivensof stealing $30,000 of his royalty income.
LaTocha retaliated by calling his sister a “liar”.
“My thing is, was it for a script? Or is it real life? LaTocha shared on Cocktails with queens. “Because in real life, me and my sister, we talk to each other. And you’re talking about 10 years ago and I’m calling you, and if someone accuses you of something, they should be able to tell you about it. It’s not even the $30,000. It’s about getting my sister back. Like, I’ll give you that! But at the end of the day, you have to talk to me.
In response to by Tamika charges, LaTocha denied any wrongdoing and claimed that Tamika distorted the situation. She claimed that she was offered the gospel market regardless of Tamika and had simply taken the opportunity. LaTocha went on to say that she had always supported by Tamika career and had never intended to cause harm.
The situation caused a rift between the sisters and sparked heated debate among fans of xscape. Many have taken to social media to voice their opinions, with some siding with Tamika and others believe that LaTocha is innocent.
Regardless of the truth, it’s clear the situation has caused significant tension between the sisters. Only time will tell if they will be able to reconcile and work through this dispute or if their relationship will be permanently damaged.
