The subtle symbol supports the “With Refugees” campaign of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR), a “global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people”, per the coalition’s website.
The #WithRefugees ribbon is an “emblem of compassion and solidarity for those who have been forced to flee their homes due to war, conflict and persecution”.
The ribbons were made by the Knotty Tie Company, which helps resettle refugees in Denver, Colorado.
Who wears a blue ribbon at the Oscars?
