The 95th Academy Awards is currently airing and Hollywood stars gathered in style at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
We saw on the stylish stage of the Oscars of course Angela Bassett, and our “aunt” did NOT come to play.
Although she didn’t win the well-deserved Best Supporting Actress Oscar, the classic beauty served up old Hollywood glamor in a show-stealing Moschino dress.
She also received a special shoutout from Creed co-stars Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors who told her, “Hey Auntie, we love you,” a nod to Jordan’s quote in Black Panther and a touching motion following his Oscar snub.
Bassett was joined by Rihanna who wowed in a chic black Alaïa dress with a leather skirt and sheer mesh inserts.
The singer, who is expecting her second child with A$AP Rocky, looked thrilled to be there and happily waved to the cameras.
The stunner is nominated for her very first Oscar for Best Original Song for the track “Lift Me Up” from the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.
She also performed the song at tonight’s ceremony.
What do you think of Rihanna RIH turning to maternity fashion for the big night of “Lift Me Up”?
Speaking of “Lift Me Up,” the song’s co-writer Tems looked angelic in a Lever Couture gown.
Several people on social media think she’s the best dressed of the night and we’re inclined to agree.
Halle Bailey also wore a turquoise Dolce And Gabbana dress with a sheer tulle skirt.
JThe actress/singer was joined at the awards show by her brother Branson Bailey…
and she debuted in the Disney trailer The little Mermaid alongside her co-star Melissa McCartney.
Another undeniable style star of the 95th Oscars is Janelle Monaé.
The Electric Lady donned bespoke Vera Wang for the occasion which included a choker, strapless top and burnt orange skirt.
She didn’t come to play and neither did Danai Gurira.
Gurira stole the show with a Jason Wu dress and a sky-high bun that pays homage to African culture.
“It’s my African self coming out here, you know, a tribute to women who wear incredible things on their heads with amazing ease at all times,” the Zimbabwean-American actress told vogue of the sculptural and bubbling columnar tie, the work of hairstylist Larry Sims.
Also scouted was Halle Berry, who took her and Van Jess as an Oscar date.
The Oscar winner looked stunning in a thigh-baring Tamara Ralph gown.
Lady Gaga in Versace is another star of the 95th Academy Awards…
Ava Duvernay in Louis Vuitton…
Ashely Graham in Alberta Ferretti…
Mindy Kaling in Vera Wang…
Salma Hayek in red sequins…
Ariana DeBose who “did the thing”, this time in white…
and Ruth E. Carter who killed in yellow before winning the Best Costume Oscar for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Carter’s win means she officially became the first black woman to win two Oscars.
In 2019, she became the first black person to win the costume design Oscar for the original. Black Panther.
Like the ladies who brought their best fashion to the carpet, the guys at the 95th Academy Awards were just as excited for Hollywood’s biggest night.
Jonathan Majors wore a three-piece suit…
while Idris Elba offset his wife Sabrina Elba’s green dress with her black and navy look.
Terrence J. and his girlfriend Mikalah Sultan made a beautiful couple during the awards ceremony…
and Michael B. Jordan and Jay Ellis kept it classic in black.
In contrast, Brian Tyree Henry’s look featured white embroidery and bling…
and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson who sizzled skivvies in a dusty pink Dolce and Gabbana look.
Do you feel these accoutrements?
Everyone looked great at the 2023 Oscars, but you tell us; who looked more bangin’?
