Blondshell – the indie project of 25-year-old Sabrina Teitelbaum – is creating anticipation for its self-titled debut album, whether with singles from the record, like the explosive ‘Veronica Mars’ or the haunting ‘Olympus’. or unique pieces like the Spotify single “Cartoon Earthquake”. Or this new Cranberries cover of “Disappointment.”
It’s safe to say that Teitelbaum’s take on “Disappointment” isn’t a disappointment. The buildup is beautiful and powerful, her voice and the guitars blend together and draw the listener into the hypnotic storm of sound.
“I wanted to sing a song from No need to argue, which is one of my favorite albums. Dolores’ vocals carry so much emotion throughout the album, not just on the big hits like ‘Zombie’, but also on the more understated songs,” the New York-born singer said in a statement to About the cover: “‘Disappointment’ hits me so hard because it’s like heartache disguised as apathy.
