Tom Brady looked like a champ at the premiere of 80 for Brady in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023. The quarterback, 45, was all smiles at the start of the Friends comedy, which features Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field and Rita Moreno like four football fanatics in their silver years. He had good reason to smile: it was his red carpet since his separation from Gisele Bundchen last year, and his last night before announcing he was retiring from football “for good”.

Tom was beaming as he walked on the synthetic turf mat. Classic in appearance, he wore a leather motorcycle jacket with black pants and a clean white long-sleeved shirt. Showing off his chiseled jawline, he became clean-shaven. The rest of his grooming routine was simple, he just straightened his dark hair.

Although this was Tom’s debut as a single man, he was anything but lonely. He looked like he was having a good time hanging out with Jane and the girls at the party. The Barbarelle the beauty was pure perfection in a purple suit while her teammate Rita wore a chic white jumpsuit and beige opera gloves. Sally looked lush in a red velvet ensemble, while Lily Tomlin anchored the group in a classic black look with tons and tons of gold jewelry.

The quartet play a group of women obsessed with Brady in 80 for Brady, which hits theaters on February 3, 2023. The film follows football fanatics on a road trip across the country to meet their hero Tom at the Super Bowl. And while it sounds too far-fetched to be real, the story was actually inspired by real events, as reported People.

Tom had big news to break the next day. Finally revealing his plans for next season, Tom took to Instagram on February 1 to share, “Hello guys, I’ll cut to the chase right now: I’m retiring. For real.”

He continued, “I know the process was pretty big last time, so when I woke up this morning I thought I’d hit record and let you know first. I won’t be long. You only get one super emotional retreat trial and I used mine last year. I really thank you guys very much. To each and every one of you for supporting me – my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors. I could go on forever. There’s too much. Thank you guys for letting me live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change anything. I love you all.”

Tom has had to deal with big changes lately. Last October, he and his wife of 13 years Gisèle announced that they were divorcing. At the time, it was rumored that the athlete’s decision to return to football was at the heart of their disputes.

Gisele was looking forward to more family time and was heartbroken by Tom’s decision, insiders said HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY in September 2022. “Gisele would never want Tom to give up on his dreams and his passion for her and the kids because she knows how important football is to him,” a person close to the model said. “But he promised her he was broken and she’s having a really hard time dealing with her emotions about this whole ordeal. They’ve made a deal when he retires and she feels lied to at this point.
