Rihanna to Voice Smurfette and Create New Music for Upcoming Smurf Movie

The Grammy-winning superstar, founder of the Fenty empire and soon-to-be mother of two has been cast in the upcoming Smurfs movie. We don’t have an official title for the movie yet, but we do know that it will voice our favorite blue creature, Smurfette!

The news broke today when RiRi made a surprise appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. She will also write and record original songs for the film in addition to serving as a producer.

“I tried to get the role of Papa Smurf,” she joked onstage (per USA today) “, But that did not work.

“I’m usually at the center of everything, but (with) this I can play a part and role and I can imagine. I can show up in my pajamas in my third trimester and play a little blue badass,” she continued, adding that she hopes to get some “cool points” with her kids one day!

In a press release, Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation, said Rihanna’s creative appeal and talent will “elevate the cultural touchstone of the Smurfs universe in a way that has never been seen before.” never been done before”.
