Oprah Winfrey Says ‘The Color Purple’ Is The ‘Most Important Thing That Ever Happened To Me’

“The color purple” occupies a special place in Oprah Winfrey heart.

The famous media mogul recently spoke about to be a producer on the upcoming musical adaptation of the 1985 film. During her chat, she shared that of all her career highs, “The Color Purple” is her “biggest and most important” accomplishment.

The 69-year-old actress said:

“The color purple in 1985 was the biggest and most important thing that ever happened to me and continues to be.”

Oprah Winfrey continued and gave a hint as to what fans can expect to see in the upcoming music release:

“Now we’re doing a whole new version that could only come from the most perfect director.”

She added that the adaptation will include:

“Magical realism, wholesome family goodness and some of the best acting you’ve ever seen. It was such an amazing experience for me.

Fancy Barrino, Danielle Brooks And Taraji P.Henson will star in the film. Apparently, Fancy Barrinowho previously played Celie on Broadway, recently talked about his film debut and said:

“You will laugh, you will cry, everyone brings it. But in the end, you will be cured. Because guess what? I was healed.

The musical version of The purple color is set to hit theaters on Christmas Day.

In 1986, Winfrey attended the Oscars for the first time after being nominated for her role as Sofia in ‘The Color Purple’.

THE Steven Spielberg movie follows Celie Harris (played by Whoopi Goldberg)a young black woman facing many problems during the 20th century, including; domestic violence, incest, pedophilia, poverty, racism and sexism. The film was a huge hit and grossed $142 million.
