Is Fake Drake/Weeknd Creator behind this? – Billboard

New music allegedly created with AI that crushes Bad Bunny and Rihanna was posted online on Tuesday (April 25), apparently by the same thriller creator behind the controversial AI Drake / Weeknd song “Coronary heart On My Sleeve” which has led to a rapid notice withdrawal earlier this month.

Uploaded to SoundCloud, YouTube and TikTok (but not Spotify, Apple Music or other major streaming companies) under a separate contract with, Ghostwrider777, the 1:07 music, “Por Qué”, features unrelenting vocals by Unhealthy Bunny on a dragging reggaeton beat with RihRih singing “My child, you shine so bright / Like diamonds in the sky / I feel alive / But now you got me thinking.”

The message accompanying the clip reads: “they tried to shut us down”, and the video running under the music includes a character wearing a white bucket hat, green ski goggles, winter gloves and a sheet white protecting their face and superior physique. As the music plays, the on-screen graphics read, “I used AI to create music from Bad Bunny ft. Rihanna…this video will be deleted in 24 hours…they tried to silence my brother, but we will prevail. ”

Representatives for Unhealthy Bunny and Rihanna did not immediately respond to Billboard‘s requests for comments.

The fake Drake/Weeknd was quickly removed from most streaming platforms after their label, Common Music Group, condemned it in an announcement on April 17 which mentioned that the track “violates content created with generative AI “. This music was credited to anonymous TikTok consumer Ghostwriter977 and credited to “Ghostwriter” on streaming platforms; at press time, it was unclear whether the two songs were created by the same person. Before it was taken down, ‘Coronary heart On My Sleeve’ racked up thousands upon thousands of views and plays on Spotify, TikTok and YouTube, with the creator saying ‘It’s just the beginning’ in a remark. under the YouTube clip.

The music’s short-lived success has amplified a growing fear within the music business over the potential impact of AI, even as a newly unlabeled Grimes pondered ‘killing the copyright’ this week. planning to split royalties 50/50 with followers creating profitable AI-generated music using his voice.
