Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ live show bombarded with viewers
The first episode of Living with Kelly and Markfeaturing Kelly Ripa And Marc Consuelos invited a mix of opinions from skeptical fans.
Many viewers have called out the married couple for exchanging “fake banter” and only giving a snooze fest in their highly anticipated debut as co-hosts. Kelly, 52, was hit with backlash for repeatedly interrupting her husband during his anecdote about the couple strolling through Central Park.
“We used to run in the park, but now we’re –” he said before Kelly rang – “We used to chase each other.”
“We saw people we used to see running and they were now walking too,” To mark52 years old, said.
Kelly, who didn’t hesitate to pile on the PDA with her husband during the live broadcast, interjected – “It’s so funny how, I don’t know if it’s age or our knees, whatever be it, time.”
Fans took to Twitter to give their thoughts on the new daytime duo.
One person tweeted – “Bruuuutal! The last time I look. I can go to the mall and watch teens kiss LESS!!! THE BEGINNING OF THE END.”
Another fan wrote – “So happy to see To mark & Kelly this morning….but Kelly could PLEASE LET IT TALK….!!! OH MY GOD…! Let him start and end a story in his own way… That’s the only way it will work.
To mark took over for Ryan Seacrest49, who announced in February that he would end his six-year stint on LIVE to return to Los Angeles, where he would continue his role in American Idol.
Ryan ended its run on the daytime show on Friday. LIVE gave Ryan a splashy send-off before officially changing the name of the show to Live with Kelly and Mark. The moving farewell included heartfelt speeches, cake and gifts.
“I just want to say a few words to you. It is in my name and in that of all of us, but above all of me”, Kelly said crying.
She continued – “It has without a doubt been the fastest six years of my life, and although you and I have been friends for decades and decades, I feel like I’ve won through this process. a younger brother/older son.”
“I am so grateful that our success together on this show has led us to develop an even closer – yet co-dependent – relationship,” she said.
Kelly joined the talk show in 2001 alongside Regis Philbin. Michael Strahan took over from Régis in 2012 and Ryan came four years later. To mark, who has appeared as a guest host over the years, had been sued by ABC executives to take over for Ryan since last summer.
To mark And Kelly married in May 1996 and had three children together: Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 20.
