“I’m in my twenties and I’ve been out with people. And for some reason it’s very crazy and interesting for people. I don’t think it’s interesting,” Davidson, 29, said during a Thursday, March 30 episode of the ‘Real Ones With Jon Berthnal’ podcast. “I’ve been in show business for almost half my life – for 14 or 15 years and on a national TV show. In 12 years, I’ve dated 10 people. I don’t think it’s that crazy, but for some people it’s very interesting. It became all that everyone was talking about.
THE Set up The star shared that it’s “confusing” to see people so invested in his love life, especially since he’s not on any social media platform.
“I’m not flexing, you know what I mean? And these people that I dated, I met them at work. I wasn’t in anyone’s DMs, nobody was in mine. I worked in one of the five epicenters of Hollywood where you meet people and that’s how it was,” he said, adding that he had “no control about taking his picture in public.
“As a result, we are in tune with the times and it has nothing to do with work. And it’s a really shitty feeling,” he explained. “I became better known before the job was there, but I was still working.”
Davidson has often made headlines for her romantic endeavors. In 2018, the King of Staten Island the star got engaged to Ariana Grande just weeks after they started dating. When the duo broke off their engagement in October 2018, the Victorious alum, 29, wrote the hit song “Thank U, Next,” which referenced Davidson and their whirlwind relationship.
After being linked to various A-listers including Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber And Phoebe DynevorDavidson was spotted hanging out with Kim Kardashian after the reality TV star, 42, hosted Saturday Night Live. The couple were together for nine months before ending their relationship in August 2022.
Since breaking up with the founder of Skims, the Dirt the actor dated Emily Ratajkwoski and more recently, Chase Sui Wonderswho he was first spotted with in December 2022.
While Davidson told the host Jon Berntal Thursday that he’s ‘cool’ with his ‘late night friends’ sometimes making jokes about his love life, he often felt like a ‘loser’ when teased during his time on SNL. (THE suicide squad the actor starred on the NBC sketch show for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022.)
“When it’s your own show, and I’ll be sitting in the back watching the chill open up and [it’s] topical political humor or whatever in the culture, and they’re laughing at you and you have to go out and do a sketch next and hit your mark – the show just laughed at you, so why are they going make fun of you? They just harassed you.
THE Bodies, bodies, bodies star clarified that he “loves” his former teammates and owes his “life” to SNL Creator Lorne Michaelsbefore noting that it was “fucking confusing because that’s the nature of entertainment”.
“It was a really hard thing to do. You don’t feel safe. You feel like a little person,” he shared.
Davidson, who was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2017, hasn’t been shy about discussing her mental health struggles over the years. In December 2018, he candidly opened up about how he was negatively affected by bullying following his breakup with Grande.
“I have been bullied online and in public by people for 9 months. I have spoken out about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help raise awareness and help kids like me who don’t want to be on this earth,” he wrote via a heartfelt Instagram post at the time. “I just want you to know. It doesn’t matter how much the internet or anyone tries to get me to kill myself. I won’t.”
