Savannah Guthrie’s personal question to Hoda Kotb leaves Jenna Bush Hager speechless on live TV
Jenna Bush Hager was shocked after his co-host, Savannah Guthrie, put Hoda Kotb on the spot, during Thursday’s broadcast of THE Today’s show.
The trio were talking about faith, family and relationships during the show’s Talker segment, when Savannah shifted the focus to by Hoda private life.
“Well, let me ask you this Hoda,” Savannah 51, said, putting her co-star in the hot seat. “Because you think you might date again someday.”
Jenna rang – “Ooo. You go. We talk about it.”
Savannah press hoda – “Can we shortlist your potential dates?”
Hoda, 58, co-signed the idea, commenting – “Actually, I trust you guys implicitly. So if you thought someone was good for me, I would trust you and go out on that date.
Savannah smiled and turned to Jenna, who told her co-host that she was looking for a man for their colleague and mutual friend. hoda noted that Jenna was good at connecting singles looking for love.
“I have a selection process that they go through,” Savannah said, telling Jenna — “You find them, I’ll filter them.”
hoda was in a long-standing relationship with a financier/entrepreneur, Joel Schiffman, before the couple broke up last year. The pair first connected after hoda spoke at a business event on Wall Street in 2013. hoda and Joel adopted a baby girl together, Haley Joy, in February 2017. They then welcomed a second daughter, Hope Catherine, in April 2019.
hoda announced on live television that she and Joel got engaged after eight years of dating on November 25, 2019. The duo planned to marry in 2020, but postponed their nuptials due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
On January 31, 2022, hoda announced on the Today show that she and Joel had separated.
hoda explained to viewers — “Joel and I had many prayerful and meaningful conversations over the holidays and we decided we were better off as friends and relatives than as an engaged couple.
She added – “So we have decided that we will start this new year on our new path as loving parents to our lovely children and as friends.”
hoda was married to former University of New Orleans tennis coach Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008.
It wasn’t the first time that by Hoda the co-hosts tried to play matchmaker.
Jenna tested the waters earlier this month, with guest star ‘Farmer Wants Wife’ Hunter Grayson. Hunter, along with his teammates, Ryan Black, Landon Heaton and Allen Foster, decided to teach hoda And Jenna how to lasso an animal. Jenna got out of the way during the segment with Hunter, allowing hoda more direct contact as the country pro demonstrated his talent. hoda failed to land a lasso throw, but scored a sweet compliment from his guest.
“I’ll just say she roped the prettiest thing in the room!” hunter said Hoda, encouraging applause from everyone on stage.
hoda gave Hunter a hug, which led to Jenna ask – “Wait, have you found love?”
Jenna later asked the other reality stars if they “had a farmer for hoda“, causing laughter all around.
