The young and the restless‘resident bad boy Billy Abbott take Chelsea Lawson to a date this week in Genoa City. But is now the right time for these two to test the waters? And will they get in over their heads and be drowned out by critics on the CBS soap opera?

Young and the Restless Fans Irritated by Billy Abbott and Chelsea Lawson Romance

There is a faction of fans very upset at the prospect of Y&R pairing Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). And it’s all about what happened years ago in Myanmar. Do you remember?

As Billy gallivanted and avoided his responsibilities at Genoa City, he crossed paths with Chelsea. Back then The young and the restless, she was a ruthless crook. Her mother, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach) trained her well.

So, Chelsea drugged Billy and slept with him. And there’s no way to put it any other way, but it was rape. It wasn’t even love rape. It was just rape. He was left out of his gourd and had no idea they had slept together.

She was also rewarded by the local dirty cops when they arrested Billy on bogus charges. Fast forward a few months, and she found herself pregnant in GC, throwing accusations that he was the one who raped her!

So much The young and the restless fans have a real problem with them establishing a romance between him and his rapist. Despite fan outcry, that’s exactly where it’s heading this week.

Billy gets a first date on Y&R

Ever since Chelsea Lawson attempted suicide, Billy Abbott has been stuck by her side. First, he told her about the ledge (literally). And since then there has been an individual support system for her. Even before that, he was in his orbit, however.

Billy was her champion when she wanted to get to know her biological son Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind), despite the objections of Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Now her ex is spending time with Chelsea, Johnny and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is not a fan of this arrangement on The young and the restless. But Billy isn’t backing down. The guy even helps Connor with school projects. And ever since he and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) split up, he’s been hanging out with Chelsea.

This week, however, they take it to another level. Billy Abbott wants dinner with Chelsea Lawson, without the kids as a buffer. And she accepts. But is this the start of a new romance or a slippery slope to trouble?

Chelsea send mixed signals about young and restless

Although they are heading for a date on a forthcoming Y&R episode, things are awkward. Billy just got out of a breakup and Chelsea just got out of a mental health spiral. It seems like bad timing and a bad idea for them so far.

More. there are bound to be lots of people who oppose it on The young and the restless. Already, Adam and Victoria are on high alert about their two exes playing house with their two sons.

And Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) could also chew on her best friend. But if there are problems to be had, Billy Boy usually finds them. And Chelsea is the same. Y&R spoilers for the end of this week say she’s sending mixed signals to their date.

It seems like a terrible idea for these two to get involved given their history and recent events. But that may not stop them. Moreover, fans are outraged by this couple. But not all viewers hate the idea.

And the authors of the CBS soap opera don’t seem to care too much about the opinion of the fans… Already Vikki is distressed by the fact that Johnny is getting too close to his biological mother. So his biological parents sparking a romance could send him deep within Young and restless.
